How is the coverage we offer different than other Travel Insurance Providers?
The coverage we offer is different—YOU pick the benefits. Unlike many traditional travel insurance plans that bundle everything together (whether you want it or not), our plans are fully modular. That means you only pay for the protection you actually need and nothing more. Don’t want baggage insurance? No problem. Prefer to skip trip cancellation benefits? You can. You get the freedom to customize your plan to fit your needs and your budget. Simple, affordable, and reliable protection—so you can travel with confidence knowing you’re covered exactly the way you want.
Travel fearlessly. Travel farther. Travel free.

In a word, no.
battleface single-trip plans for US residents may be purchased up to the day before departure, but may not be purchased while actually on a trip.
Sure! Just check out the sample Customer Library to view plan language applicable to your state.
Trip Cancellation covers you before your trip starts, in the event you have to cancel your trip for a covered reason. A high percentage of claims we receive are due to Trip Cancellation, which speaks to the importance of this coverage.
Trip Interruption covers you during your trip, in the event you have to return home due to a covered reason. Next to Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption is often the most frequent type of claim we see. You can be reimbursed for the cost of your unused trip arrangements, plus any extra airfare costs to return home.
Trip Delay also covers you during your trip—it can reimburse the costs of meals, local transportation, and accommodations when your trip is unexpectedly delayed for covered reasons.
Your Trip Cancellation coverage starts at 12:01 AM the day after you purchase your plan and ends the earlier of: when you cancel your trip, or 11:59 PM the day before your trip departure.
Trip Interruption coverage begins on the later of: 12:01 AM on your scheduled departure date, or the date and time you actually start the trip. It ends on the earlier of: your arrival at the return destination, or your scheduled return date.
It depends. Oftentimes if the cancellation is due to problems with the airline, such as staffing shortages, they are responsible for rebooking you and covering any expenses you incur. If it’s due to something like a hurricane, there could be coverage under Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay or even Missed Connection. As with delays, your best bet is to document everything, and contact battleface for guidance.
The best answer we can give you is “it depends” – when the delay occurs during your trip, how long the delay is, and why you were delayed. Different coverages could apply, and there may be different covered reasons and time frames for each coverage. We recommend two things:
- Document as much as possible, including the reason for the delay, such as emails from the airline, weather reports, and receipts for any expenses incurred. This will help you at claim time.
- Contact battleface. They can clarify your benefits to help you navigate the situation at hand.
It’s hard to give definitive answers to hypothetical situations because one small detail in the situation can change everything. That said, battleface will do their best to answer your questions, or at least help you understand the plan language and how it might apply to various situations.
If you, a family member, or a traveling companion have a pre-existing medical condition, such as heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, or other conditions, you need to be aware that most travel protection plans exclude any losses resulting from that condition. If you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due to that condition, or if you become ill with that condition while traveling, you may not have coverage.
- Single-Trip plans: If you buy your travel protection plan within 15 days of making your initial trip payment and you insure your full trip cost, you qualify for a waiver of the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Exclusion
This can be a complicated subject, so make sure you read the plan, and contact our carrier battleface if you have any questions about pre-existing medical conditions.
Pre-existing medical condition means an injury, sickness, death or other condition of you, your traveling companion, family member, host at destination, business partner, pet, or service animal, for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended by or received from a physician within the one hundred eighty (180) day period immediately preceding and including the purchase date of a plan.
Cancel For Any Reason provides complete flexibility that truly allows you to cancel for any reason, even one not covered under Trip Cancellation. This benefit is sold as an add-on to your chosen trip cancellation benefit.
The limit of coverage is 75% (or 50% if you reside in FL) of your original trip cost. You can select this option if you meet the following criteria:
- Maximum trip cost for all travelers of $10,000
- The plan must be purchased more than 10 days before the departure date
- You purchase the plan within 15 days of the deposit date
- You purchase the plan to cover the entire cost of the trip
When using this benefit, the cancelation of the covered trip occurs more than 48 hours from the originally scheduled departure. Any later arrangement(s) or payment(s) need to be added within 15 days of the date of payments. Cancel For Any Reason coverage is not available to residents of NY.
In order to purchase Cancel For Any Reason coverage on single trip plans, you must purchase your plan within 15 days of your initial trip deposit.
When counting the number of days, the date you first made a reservation or deposit for your trip is considered day zero. For example, if you made your initial trip deposit on November 1, you have until November 16 to purchase your plan and be eligible to purchase Cancel For Any Reason coverage, or to qualify for the Discovery plan’s Pre-Existing Medical Conditions Exclusion Waiver.
To qualify for the Pre-Existing Medical Conditions Exclusion Waiver, you must purchase within 15 days of your initial trip deposit. You also must insure your full trip cost.

Travel protection doesn’t cover everything. It is designed to provide coverage for unforeseeable circumstances. The information we provide is a brief summary. It does not include all terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions, and termination provisions of the plans described. Coverage may not be the same or available for residents of all states. For a full description of coverage, please carefully read your plan wording (check out the Customer Library to view coverage language applicable to your state) or connect with a battleface representative to discuss.

How do I file a claim? What can I do to help with the processing of my claim?
If something happens before or during your trip and you want to use your travel protection, you’ll need to file a claim to be reimbursed.
We recommend bringing a print-out of your plan documents with you when traveling so if you are affected by a storm and lose power or can’t connect to the Internet, you’ll still know what number to call and what instructions to follow.
For non-emergency situations before or during your trip: document the situation as much as possible and keep receipts for any expenses incurred. If you have any questions about your situation, or you need guidance, please connect with battleface for a chat.
For emergency situations, or if you need assistance during your trip: battleface can help you with any situation and answer questions about next steps and required documentation.
Filing a claim starts with completing a claim form. The claim form is a questionnaire meant to help you achieve the following:
- Inform battleface about the incident that caused your claim
- Specify the financial loss you want reimbursed
- Supply evidence of the incident to support your claim
Once submitted, your claim is promptly assessed by a claims analyst who determines whether it meets the terms of your plan and communicates the outcome to you. Click here to start your claim.

Review your plan with confidence
We want to ensure the plan you purchase meets your needs. If you decide it’s not the right fit, you can cancel within 10 days for a full refund—no questions asked! Please note that this refund is only available if the covered trip has not started and if a claim has not been initiated. After this ten (10)-day period, your premium is non-refundable. Travel with enhanced peace of mind, knowing that you're protected from many of the common mishaps that can occur while traveling.
